Those are some of the first words Ajax, starving college student extraordinaire, has the misfortune of hearing upon waking up in a brave new world from what he's fairly sure is a very fatal accident involving water and a shit ton of electricity.
Okay, so he's not dead. That's good. But what's this about him being stuck playing the character Tartaglia? Tartaglia, as in the no-good, one-dimensional, cartoonish villain who met his untimely, gruesome death in the first act of the original game?
Forget this. Like hell Ajax is going to share that fate.
And so begins one man's journey to save himself from his awful destiny.

People keep coming up to Kaveh to congratulate him. Kaveh doesn’t really know why, and he’s a little too scared to ask at this point, so he heads back home, content if not a little bemused.
He is, unfortunately, reminded of it the very next day, when the door slams open and Al-Haitham stalks in. “Mind telling me why everyone was congratulating me today?” he demands. “About your pregnancy?"
Or: Al-Haitham is, without a doubt, the most annoying person Kaveh knows. Maybe the world’s second-most annoying person can help Kaveh figure him out.

Childe scoots closer, holding the tail-blanket close to him. “You’re an adeptus, Rex Lapis, an Archon. That’s only a bonus if you ask me. Pretty hot, too.” He gives the tail fur a playful tug. “And look at this! If you come back to Snezhnaya some time, we won’t even have to worry about the cold. What’s there not to like?”
Zhongli doesn't meet Childe's eyes. “For one such as myself, the transiency of one’s lifespan is not a concept that can be easily related to. Yet it embellishes your life in every action, no moment that you wasted as you strive toward your goals, for it would be foolish to while away the finite on needless activities. It troubles me that you might find my company lacking, due to my inability to relate to the same existential experience as your own."
Oh, this ridiculous man.
When Childe wakes to Zhongli possessing a tail and a pair of antlers, he's pleasantly intrigued, but for Zhongli they serve only as a reminder of the difference between their respective natures. Childe gives him reassurance and snuggles.
