The glass tower unnerves Sonic unlike anything ever has before, to the point that he refuses to sneak even a glance of it over his shoulder, afraid that if he does, he’ll be drawn in like the victim of a siren’s melody, powerless as he drowns in its contents.
Just the thought of it makes him feel uneasy, so instead of attempting to fight it, he walks away, gaze fixed to an arbitrary point in space in front of him.
The truth is, he’s been moving away from it for as long as he can remember. Yet no matter how far Sonic runs or walks to widen the distance between him and the walls, there seems to be no end in sight to the umbrage casted by the monolith. Almost as if its height stretches to infinity.
Still, this doesn’t deter him. Sonic refuses to look back.
