Summary
It’s been months since the Idol Awards. The two groups have semi-merged, more or less all on friendly terms. There’s some bickering sometimes but it’s all in good fun. Zoey is friends with Mystery and Abby now, her previous crushes on them long forgotten. It’s nothing new, Zoey lets her heart run free. She wants to trust it to guide her where to go.
Lately though, it’s been doing some… Funny things. Zoey doesn’t mean to suddenly fixate on Baby but she just keeps thinking about him. About the lollipops he always keeps somewhere on his person, ready to whip out at a moment’s notice. About his obsession with different spices and eating the hottest things possible. About the way he grins when there’s a challenge he wants to tackle, or the intensity in his eyes when he’s really focusing on something, or the way he laughs— his real laugh, not the fake, sardonic ones he makes when he’s trying to pretend like something doesn’t bother him.
(Or Zoey accidentally finds herself noticing certain things about Baby as they grow closer. In her effort to hide her growing feelings however, she fails to notice they’re reciprocated, until it’s right in her face.)
