"Are you sure you don't want me to?" Mikoto asks. It's odd. It's startling. It's not Mikoto's nature, right? He's supposed to leave Fuuta alone. He's supposed to not pry. His voice is so quiet, he's so close. Fuuta is scared.
His face burns hot, he can't focus. Mikoto's hand is still sitting on top of the bandaging around his waist.
Mikoto's other hand comes up, brushes his knuckles around the gauze on Fuuta's face.
He's frozen. He's turned into stone. He doesn't understand what's going on.

Fuuta continues to glare at his shoes, his frown deepening. "I'm just tired," he says, beginning to kick the ground with the tip of his shoe.
"Is that really all?"
He doesn't want to push, but he's known Fuuta for long enough to tell that this wasn't simply exhaustion that was bogging him down.
"I…" Fuuta stops abusing the ground and takes in a deep breath, then lets it go with another sigh. "…I just feel so out of place."
