Midoriya Izuku, age twenty-four. Police officer in Tokyo. He thrives out on the field and loves to save those who need him, those who are in need of saving. He cherishes those who praise him and does his job, and does it with a smile.
Bakugou Katsuki, age twenty-five. A normal man in Tokyo, though, that’s what he tells Izuku. They’ve been dating for years, known each other practically their entire lives, and Izuku had wished to one day marry the man he called his boyfriend.
Until one day, everything changes. Trust burst in two, shattered underneath thousands of lies laid covered, blinding and pitiful. The man Izuku wanted to call husband, was no longer the man he fell in love with.
Will their story end with two hearts broken in ruin, or will they return what once was lost?

When rustling came from the other line, Izuku’s brows furrowed and he was about to hang up when a low voice said, “Izuku?”
Izuku paused, did he know this person? The man’s voice was low, not one Izuku could fully remember, but he had a small tinge of familiarity that flickered in his mind.
“Hello? Who’s this?” He asked, voice low. He didn’t want to worry any of his classmates, so he decided to stay at least a little silent before hanging up on the person if this was some kind of prank.
The man laughed, it wasn’t mocking or anything, but it still sent a shiver down Izuku’s spine. As if his body remembered, but his mind didn’t. “It’s me, my son.”
Time stopped, Izuku’s breath hitched.

Love was a silly thing, but for Izuku, not so much.
He loved too much, he held his heart on his sleeve only for it to be crushed under the weight of thorns and lilies. The way his mind clouded when he watched the one he loved soar through the air with practiced percision. The way his heart pounded in his chest when he heard his voice and felt his touch--though fleeting.
The warmth Izuku craved was pure, loving and heart-warming. Yet the warmth he wanted was the warmth he could never accomplish. Izuku was doomed the moment his heart skipped a beat for Bakugou Katsuki.
