“Okay, now, quick fill me in,” Tony lowered his voice as they stopped, the cars on the highway rushing by occasionally. “What’s your brag? What should I know?”
“Brag? – I don’t brag,” Peter protested, insulted.
“Figuratively speaking, jeez,” Tony perched his glasses higher on his nose. “They know about the internship, no? I signed the paperwork, so I assume they know.”
“Um, yeah, yes – they know.”
“Well, what else do they know?” Tony glanced over Peter’s shoulder. “We need to be on the same page, kid – do you remember it’s a cover? If it’s full of holes it won’t do a good job of covering.”
“Right,” Peter nodded to himself vigorously. “Right. Uh. They don’t know much. I, well, I might have said I know you,” he cringed under the man’s watchful gaze but Mr. Stark’s face didn’t so much as twitch. “And, and Ned might have blurted out that I know Spider-Man…”
Tony sighed, his eyes closing briefly in grief at their teenage stupidity.
“Sorry,” Peter said.

The Academic Decathlon team is on their way to Washington for the nationals when their bus breaks down in the middle of the highway. Well, would you guess their luck when an orange Audi happens to drive by?

"Mr. Stark," he whined, face in a pillow, stretched across a couch in Tony's lab upstate. "It's a death wish! The lie about the internship will come up. Somehow. I know it! I can feel it in my bones - "
"What lie?" Tony didn't look up from the mainframe he was tinkering with.
"That I have an internship!"
"You do," he paused, hissing at something in displeasure. "You're here, interning at my lab, like every weekend - "
Peter unglued himself from the pillow.
"Uh, no - I - last weekend, we spent most of the time, like, blowing up your armor?"
"For science."
"It's… three pm," he pointed out, checking the hour on his phone. "All I've done today was eat, do my homework, eat, watch vines, eat, talk to Ned…"
"Eat and whine to me. Yeah, I think I get the pattern. You hungry yet?"
The teenager threw himself back face-first into the couch with a dramatic sigh.
Soft mechanical crackling and low energetic hums filled the silence that fell.
"Actually I am. I'm gonna get a snack."

The field trip trope never dies I suppose. Or Peter is in crisis, Flash goes through a mental breakdown, and Tony is obvious.

“Please, remain calm,” said FRIDAY. Which was useless, because no one he could see was anything akin to ‘calm’. “The city is under attack from an unidentified threat. According to the law, no one is to leave the safety. Please, stay where you are, the threat is being taken care of. The building is in a lockdown for the time being.”
Right. The new law. In hopes of lowering casualties while the Avengers work, the new Accords included an alarm that immediately alerted all the public spaces, phones and accessible buildings about the threat. He felt his phone vibrate in his pocket as the warning blare shot, and with his hearing, he could faintly hear the signal blasting on the streets. Which meant one thing.
Superheroes were needed in the city, pronto.
