Summary
Kakashi opens his mouth, about to protest that a lowly chuunin wouldn't get the drop on him but something makes him stop. Across the room, the very chuunin they're talking about walks in, surrounded by a mixed group of chuunin and jounin. Iruka never looks their way, but Kakashi can feel the way Iruka focuses on him. It's nothing obvious, no staring or pointed glares, but he knows Iruka knows exactly where Kakashi is in the bar and that leaves Kakashi feeling hunted.
Asuma follows Kakashi's gaze. It's hard to miss the new group. They're loud and boisterous, suggesting this isn't the first bar they've hit. Kakashi absently lifts his glass for another sip, then immediately spits it out, coughing. Instead of the smooth sake he'd been drinking, his glass is full of Tabasco sauce.
Kakashi blinks down at the red liquid. When he looks back over at Iruka's group, Iruka is looking straight at him and smiling.

He shouldn’t have—” Zuko clamps his mouth shut, his teeth clicking together, and swallows thickly. “I mean. I found the tactic he proposed very startling, but it wasn’t my place to question such things. I’m sure he had his reasons.”

Summary
Sokka doesn’t like his soulmate. It’s not like he even knows who they are, but the second he found out about his pain being shared with his soulmate through their bond he did everything in his power to get hurt as little as possible because it was the right thing to do and everybody knew that. Except his soulmate, apparently.

Summary
Zuko has always believed in destiny. When he was a little kid, his mother used to tell him he was destined to greatness.
Sokka has always thought all that conversation about spirits and destiny were just a bunch of mumbo-jumbo that would eventually freeze his butt. Literally, thank you very much, Katara.
But when Zuko decides to join the Avatar in Ba Sing Se, him and Sokka will have to confront the fact that maybe that was just meant to be... destiny.
