He’s no cleric, no pious man at all, and certainly no follower of the Wildmother. He cannot imagine what himself and this vast, amorphous godly abstraction could even begin to talk about.
In which Essek communes with the Wildmother, eats soup, and is in love with Caleb Widogast.

Summary
pyriscence (noun): a type of plant reproduction where seeds are released and begin to germinate only after being exposed to fire.
After things go wrong in Rosohna, Essek becomes a non-person to the home and family he grew up in. As he contemplates his new life without a surname, the Mighty Nein suggest to him that maybe that doesn't need to be the case. Maybe, with the help of a red-haired wizard, he can come around to something new.

Summary
Beau frowns. She can still remember what she’d seen clearly, but it doesn’t feel like a vision. “No it was… it felt like… like a memory almost? Like something that happened to me a long time ago, only I wasn’t me, I was… someone else.”
—
In which Beau discovers she’s a consecuted soul who got lost when the Beacons were stolen. And a pretty important one at that.
If I mess up any details/timelines/characterization it’s cuz there hasn’t been an episode for CENTURIES and I forgot. Just call it an AU.
——
In all likelihood I won’t be continuing this; my interest in the show has dwindled considerably since the return from hiatus

Summary
‘Essek.’ Jester draws out the second syllable, and the tension in the air dies down from boiling to on a low simmer. ‘Why do you keep calling her ‘the Umavi’? She’s your mom, right?’
Essek’s smile softens slightly, but it's still thin-lipped. Mirthless. ‘You will not be there to meet my mother, Jester. You will be there for a formal introduction to the head of Den Thelyss.’
(In which the Mighty Nein have dinner with Deirta Thelyss, and learn where the venom in Essek's veins came from.)
