It was natural to him, they spent loads of time together, sung together, and proclaimed each other as partners. In a band way of course. He wouldn’t want to admit it, obviously, because who knows how Toya would react. Given how much an asshole his father was, he was sure Toya would react less favorably. Not like he was planning to confess. He always thought that love at this age was inconsequential, it wasn’t even real love anyway. All he saw were horny teenagers desperately finding a place where they could project their urges on. But things have changed for him.

The most common delirious shouts involved ramblings of one specific being, a black-tailed siren that this city had supposedly been haunted by for centuries. The town of Blackfin Bay was even named after the legend of this Black Siren, a horrifying, fish-like creature whose upper half resembled a beautiful maiden while a sleek and elegant black tail lay in place of where its delicate legs should have been. Tales of this mythical apex monster stretched back centuries, with even the oldest and wisest of seamen claiming to have seen it themselves and having beared witness to the strongest willed of brave sailors swindled into death's awaiting jaws by its ethereal song.
