“Are you trying to get killed, Potter?” Malfoy drawls, stalking forward. Quick as a serpent himself, he reaches out and grabs the snake just below the head. It thrashes in his grip, but is no longer able to bite anyone. “This is a poisonous snake, and I doubt anyone brought a bezoar with them.”
Harry glares. He opens his mouth, and feels the beginning the snake’s language pass his lips, and this isn’t what he wants, what’s the point of insulting Malfoy if he can’t understand him –
Malfoy’s eyes widen. He slaps his hand over Harry’s mouth, “Potter, what the hell–”

Summary
It's WW2 1943. Hogwarts just accepted 11 transfer students from around the world, all from affected areas of the current global conflict. But there is more than that.. there will always be more to the story than what the public is told. Really, it's not in the publics best interest to know the story around me, us, you. Unfortunately, there is a power hungry monster with charming words dead set on picking us apart with a frontal lobe incision.

What do you get when you mix a bucketful of emotional tension with parboiled angst, a good litre of the Dursleys being absolute arses and several cups of Voldemort causing everyone severe trauma (not to mention a heap load of trouble, too)?
Huh, I suppose that's the perfect recipe for Severitus soup.

Summary
When Harry finds an injured Snape on his doorstep and must hide him from the Dursleys, he has no idea that this very, very bad day will be the start of something good.
Harry and Snape are thrown together by annoying relatives, a series of strange dreams, and Voldemort's latest hunt for Harry, but their greatest challenge may well be surviving each other. This will be a long summer unless the two can find a way to work together. A slow-burn enemy-to-mentor story.
Alternate 6th summer (and part of the school year): post-OotP; ignores HBP and DH. No slash, no romance. NOW COMPLETE!
