Once he spots Liam’s head, Harry traces the Liam-owned body part dots until he finds the right hand. Harry ties his hair back into a ponytail as he whispers a prayer to every divine entity he is aware of. He jumps off the counter with a war cry: “To strike fear into the heart of the gender binary!”

Louis leans in and plucks at Harry’s damp shirt before letting it plop back into place. “Why are you two wet?” He points at Harry and Zayn. “And why are you eating cookies?”
“Why not?” Niall retorts.
“Fair point.”
Zayn interjects. “Better question – why aren’t you in aisle seven? I was sure you were involved in some way.”
Harry opens his mouth and then pauses before turning to Zayn. “Y’know, I did, too! When Nick told me, I asked him ‘what has Louis done now?’”
“I hate Nick.” Louis mutters pointlessly.

A slow smile starts to grow on Harry’s lips as he keeps letting his eyes roam around Louis’ face. The smile blooms like Louis is his personal sun, those smooth rose petal lips unfurling, revealing his sharp ivory thorns. Finally, it blossoms out, dimples taking root. Louis would do anything, every single day for the rest of his life to be the cause of this smile.
Louis loves Harry and Harry loves Louis – managing to be bonded before they’re even out of school is the best and worst. Some people love them for it, some people hate them. Which is fine, until someone takes it too far. Louis just wants to graduate.
Inspired by “Strong” by One Direction (translation: I listened to it on repeat a thousand times while crying, eating ice cream, and writing this)
