“Peter… is single too,” Cindy responds with a not so subtle look towards where she just came from. She looks over and Peter is blushing furiously as if he can hear them. Great, now she’s mad that she finds it cute.
“Mmm - he doesn’t think I’m worth talking to, and I’ve had too bad a week to force conversation on someone that can’t even look at me.” She says with more fury than she meant to let out. Chancing another look over and he’s already looking at her. Like he can hear her, to be fair she wasn’t trying to whisper but she also doesn’t want to create a scene. That’s not what she finds strange. It’s the look on his face - like he heard and she’s wrong. Michelle isn’t used to being wrong, especially not when the facts are right in front of her. So she turns away again.

Michelle shifts, kicks her feet up onto the coffee table. "Hm. I'm more into The Winter Soldier type. Dark, mysterious, dangerous. That's cool"
Peter is about to reply through a steadily deepening frown - The Winter Soldier??? Cooler than Spider-Man??? Really??? - but when Michelle had shifted on the couch, she had somehow ended up with her shoulder bumping his, their arms almost pressed together, and for some reason the warmth of her body so close is really distracting. So he doesn't say anything.
(Peter is a dumb teenage boy who just wants Michelle to think he's cool).

It was a joke between her and Harry, back when they were dating - why the owners would have a mailbox out in front when any actual mail would get sent to their place of residence. Harry had joked that it was a rich people thing, part of the whole ‘cabin out in the middle of nowhere’ mystery that Michelle had just rolled her eyes at.
She’s glad for it now, sliding the letter into the mailbox and lifting the little red handle to indicate that there’s something there - hoping that whoever the next guest is that they’d check it out.
Whether they did or they didn’t, Michelle did her part - feeling just a little bit lighter as she glances out over the lake house one more time.
