He held on to these stories like a lifeline, imagining the day he might be worthy of such an encounter.
He imagined the sound of their voice, not loud or commanding, but gentle and resonant, a melody that spoke directly to his soul. He envisioned the warmth of their touch, a comforting hand on his shoulder, grounding him in the midst of chaos. He longed to feel the weight of their gaze, not judgmental but understanding, as if they could see every fragment of his being and still deem him worthy.
All he hoped for was an angel too.
