When Gunji Akira decides to head home, forsaking any chance of getting the next volume of his manga that day, he boards an earlier train home. Missing his chances of meeting his future partner.
The next few days go a bit more differently, Akira makes it to his job interview despite the ruckus in the train cart beside him. Everything seems to be going well, he's made one friend at school, despite Tokitou overwhelming brightness. He got a job at a newly opened cafe and might join a club soon.
Life was going just as he planned, right before the black-haired boy who came in made eye-contact with him and rippled everything with two words.

Sora connects to Elsa by showing his own magic to her. Elsa asks if he's a sourceress too. Sora says kinda, but not really. Telling her he learned his magic from Merlin and Donald. A wizard and court magician. Sora offers help by having himself and Donald help Elsa with her powers, citing that she just needs to be taught control over her abilities. With Donald and Goofy's return, they affirm the same. Han's soldiers come through to arrest her, but with Sora's intervention, the 4 escape down the hill. After some jokes, Sora asks Donald to teach Elsa magic control, and he does. Sora asks Elsa to make him magic clothes, too. She obeys and adds her power to the faires. She does the same for Donald and Goofy, noticing their desire to protect Sora. Sora confides in Elsa not to restrain her powers and to let them go, to which he starts singing off-key. Meaning Ariel who uses water magic. After some more training and talks, Elsa realised she needed to not have so much self-hatred. After a confrontation with the kingdom and Hans, Elsa tells them she will unfreeze everything and Anna as well. Council members overrule Hans and allow her to do so. Hans gets corrupted by a heartless, and the 5 fight him off.

Neku is happy after the game ends. For the first few months, he's really happy. He misses Joshua a lot tho. As the months go by, his previous euphoria lowers; he's still happy about his friends and all, but there are times he thinks about Joshua 6 months later. It takes 9 months for him to become sad. It's Shiki who comforts Neku for missing Joshua, even if she doesn't believe he deserves it, Neku doesn't cry, but he feels like it. Joshua finally shows himself a year later, and he and Neku rebuild a complicated relationship. He chose Neku cause they were similar and were perfect overall in imagination. Joshua kisses him and is more intimate with him. He tells Neku, "Everything I did, I did it for you." They're not dating, but Joshua visits Neku a lot, and he stays longer. until he tells Neku he's leaving, telling Neku, "It's cute, that you thought we'd be together forever." Neku becomes depressed for a while after basically a break-up, and Shiki comforts him. Neku gets postcards in different languages; he knows Joshua sends them.

Chapter 3/ Pompt 08 misery loves company
Neku finds himself stuck because of the rain. Joshua whos not suppose to interact with Neku break the rules to watch and then go to him with his parasol. Neku doesn't want to see him and rejects his offer of being walked home. Joshua says he'll have to wait until the next morning then for the rain to stop. Neku chases after Joshua getting wet anyway. After falling into each other. Neku asks where he was going, Joshua says nowhere. Neku is confused. Joshua kisses his cheek, Neku runs off as Joshua sit on the bench.

Accurate depiction of the complicated, toxic relationship between Neku and Joshua. From doing things they don't like because the other person wants to. Holding hands (Neku) and eating Ice cream (Joshua). Giving gifts that the other can't reciprocate. To the nightmares Neku has, Joshua is there to kill him. Joshua can't decide whether he wants to keep or destroy Shibuya. Neku can't decide if he loves or hates Joshua. Neku still has trust in Joshua, while Joshua uses his scans to his advantage and influences Neku to do things. Joshua doesn't sleep.

Taking place after the game. We see through an interconnect of Neku's interactions with 'ghost' Joshua, who's not supposed to interact with the RG, and Hanekoma's letter to the upper Planes about the plight Joshua has caused.
Hanekoma urges the Upper Planes to be a bit more lenient on Joshua because he has changed, specifically because of his connection with Neku. Citing that despite the Upper Plan not allowing Joshua to interact with the RG, Joshua keeps using loopholes to interact with Neku through imprints, memes, text messages, and now leaving his phone in WildKat so that it can use it to talk to Neku. Hanekoma talks about how the good Neku being kept around can help with, states that they now have Co-Conductors, and
"The Composer, while close to Sakuraba, would likely reject the idea of sharing his hard-earned position. And Sakuraba... excuse my informal tone here, but the kid just learned to open up and love life. Somehow, I don’t think he’ll give it all up to spend the rest of his days with the guy who shot him. Twice."
Hanekoma offers instead to let him train Neku, let him ascend and let them become Co-Producers.
Meanwhile, Neku goes to WildKat, who is annoyed by Joshua's invisible ass to make coffee, while Neku talks about how Joshua should try listening to the upper planes and stop interfering and causing trouble, as Neku does want to see him again. We also find out that Joshua's phone was taken.
