In which Tim gets stabbed due to his adoptive brother’s incompetence, mocked by his adoptive father’s biological spawn, blackmailed by tech support as well as his ex-girlfriend, and finally both rescued and kidnapped by his adoptive brother’s brother – crime lord by trade, nuisance by nature. He should really try to be a bit less excited about that last part.

Summary

The rules are simple. In punishment for the uprising in the Dark Days, each of the twelve districts must provide two tributes - a girl and a boy - to participate in a display of the Capitol's power. The twenty-four tributes, all between the ages of twelve and eighteen, are shoved into an enormous outdoor arena that could consist of everything from a rocky mountain landscape to a frozen glacial tundra, and, over the course of several weeks, the participants are made to battle to the death.
