Phil watches a crab skitter across the sand, kicking out its legs and moving the granules with its wide body and its rapidly moving legs. He follows it with his eyes, the warm sun encapsulating his body in a lazy haze where all he wants is to watch and sit around.
The crab pauses its movements and rotates, as if looking around. What is it seeing? Is it looking for danger? Does it wonder if someone is watching it?
--Dan and Phil are at the beach six months after hard launching, but there are things Phil has to work through.
