Summary
“Is that your way of asking me to cook for you sometime?” Alec says. “'Cause I will.”
The moment the words escape his mouth, Alec finds himself slightly panicking. Because he does not talk like that, ever―in a way that might even be considered flirting―and he still doesn’t understand what it is about Magnus that brings stuff like that out of him. More importantly, he has a boyfriend.
Magnus, however, just looks mildly surprised as their eyes meet.
“My, my. Master chef, good family name, and charming?” Magnus tilts his head ever so slightly. “Careful, Mr. Lightwood,” he says in a low, teasing voice, mouth curving up in a smile. “You’re gonna make me swoon.”
---One night, Magnus spots a handsome stranger in the elevator of his apartment building – which wouldn’t be a big deal if said stranger didn’t turn out to be dating Magnus’s neighbor. The stranger soon becomes Alec, and their paths end up crossing more than once. A tentative friendship develops as they slowly get to know each other, and they both find that it’s effortless in a way neither of them has ever known. It's only when other kinds of feelings start getting involved that things become a bit more complicated.

Summary
“He’s going to be an amazing father.” Magnus whispers so that only the woman beside him could hear what had been said, and Maryse is quick to agree with the statement. Alec was someone who was born to be a father, something Maryse had noticed in the ways that he looked after his siblings while growing up, never complaining about helping out where ever and when ever he could. Even as a toddler himself, he had always been asking to feed Isabelle her bottles and hold her whenever he could. He once took Maryse aside and promised her, so much seriousness in his eyes for an eight year old, and promised that he would always protect her.
At the time, Maryse thought that it was cute and just Alec being a wonderful big brother. But now, which the knowledge that she has, Maryse wondered if that also meant keeping his baby sister safe from their own father.
Maryse begins to tear up again, unable to get the image of her baby boy crying and hurt while Jace, Isabelle and Max flourished under Robert’s love, her heart breaking for the little boy who never stood a chance.

Dean looked down at the floor and sighed. "Since... always. I knew it for sure in Purgatory. But always." He then added in a near whisper, tears threatening to spill from behind his now closed eyelids, "I'm sorry, Cas."
"Sorry? You're sorry?" Castiel felt dumbfounded. The constant loneliness and longing he had sensed from Dean that seemed to grow worse and worse with the passing of years made so much more sense now.
"Dean," was all Cas could say before releasing his grip on his collar and gently, slowly, deliberately, kissing the corner of his mouth. A shocked gasp left Dean’s mouth of its own accord and he melted into Castiel's tight embrace.
