Summary
When Dean takes the brunt of a spell intended to evict Castiel from his vessel, his mind fractures and it falls to Cas and Sam to put him back together—not knowing how many pieces of Dean there are, or which part will come out next. Will it be the innocent child who remembers that angels are watching over him? The Hell-tortured adult who believes he’s not worthy of rescue? The angry hunter who has been betrayed one too many times? Or the lover who no longer has a reason to hold back?

Summary
When Sam finds Dean after the Empty, after everything, there is blood on his brother’s face. A handprint laid across his cheek in what should be reminiscent of their father’s brutal touch but only appears as reverence, as worship. Dean is in the middle of the dungeon, his hands gripping his thighs so tightly Sam knows they’ll be bruised, and he is on his knees. He looks like he’s praying.
To what, Sam will never understand.

Summary
"The idea is that mutual vulnerability fosters closeness. To quote the study’s authors, 'One key pattern associated with the development of a close relationship among peers is sustained, escalating, reciprocal, personal self-disclosure.” Allowing oneself to be vulnerable with another person can be exceedingly difficult, so this exercise forces the issue."
A few days after the events of 15x19, Jack deposits Cas outside the Bunker freshly human with his grace around his neck. With no big bad to fight and no rush of adrenaline, Dean does what he does best when confronted with his own emotions: he hides. Sam, annoyed by the lack of communication, schemes with Rowena to magically lock Dean and Cas alone in a room together, and they can't leave until they do all of the "36 Questions That Lead to Love."

Summary
Heaven’s overrated. The beer tastes like ass, the peace is suffocating, and the icing on the cake? John Winchester lives just down the road. So when Cas turns up promising he can rewrite the past and give Dean his life back, he figures—why the hell not?
But second chances come with consequences. Back on Earth, Dean has to deal not only with the fallout of tampering with the timeline, but with Cas—now maddeningly human, and harder than ever to keep at arm’s length. Friends with benefits feels like the easiest bad idea he’s ever had.
And with angels on the brink of rebellion, war looming, and even the animals acting strange, Dean doesn’t exactly have time for distractions. Too bad staying away from Cas has never been his strong suit.
