Summary
On September 19, 2008, Amy and Victoria Dallon undergo a trigger event after being held captive for over a week. This is about how they pick up the pieces and explore the complications brought on by the experience. This is a character-led story and as such many character dynamics and relationships cannot be tagged ahead of time as they will develop organically. Scion, the Endbringers, and other massive-scale threats will likely not play a major role in this story. While the original work has grimdark elements and this work contains many similar themes, this work is not intended to have a sad ending.

“I didn’t leave you?” Mira took a step towards Zoey, utterly lost. “I would never leave you. Zoey, what’s going on?”
Zoey just looked at her. Looked at her with that terrible, flat expression on her face, and said, “‘There is no we, Zoey. I don’t get to have a family.’”

Gwi-ma may have been defeated, but the doubts he sowed never truly went away. Mira's confronted with this fact when she finds Zoey sitting alone on a rooftop in the middle of the night.
