Summary
“Okay wait up, seriously.” That Dutch accent filled his mind again.
He couldn’t bear to understand why Max wanted to speak to him. After they get past the stairs, George feels a hand pull him into a dark corner where no one could see and no cameras dared to look. George finally looks up to see the Dutchman holding his shoulders. Their closeness made his stomach turn, Max’s hand on his shoulder warm and well in a way loving.
“What max. What do you want now? More games or perhaps to mock me.” George snapped, daring to look Max in the eye. George’s eyes were red rimmed as he nearly cried on that podium but held himself back because he was already getting booed there was no way he would let them see how they affected him.
Max didn’t say anything, just slid his arms around George. The warm presence of someone, his someo- he didn't finish that thought, holding him felt more comfortable than he wanted to admit.
Or: George is left with an emptiness in his heart and Max helps him fill it back up.

Summary
Max Verstappen was the most insufferable boss George had ever had—the man he cursed under his breath every single day.
Yet in the middle of an ordinary afternoon, George found himself staring at the most impossible sight imaginable, the annoying lion he had been ready to tear apart had somehow turned into a two- or three-year-old child with the most innocent eyes.
And just like that, every angry word George had been prepared to throw at Max disappeared.
Because how was he supposed to yell at a little boy who looked at him like that?

"Nope."
"Then why did you get married in the first place?"
George rolls his gray-blue eyes: "It was one of those Vegas things, I guess. We were drunk. Wasted."
"If that's the case, you could have get it annulled afterwards."
"Well... I guess that's because we haven't been in Vegas at the same time since then. At least I haven't."
"Okay, fair enough. Last question: have you guys fucked?"Bookmarked by Alexshalala
