After stumbling upon the cooking videos of a creator called ‘Joe’, Kaoru takes an interest in him. This leads him to asking him questions during his livestreams, and they soon begin messaging each other.
When the two finally meet in person, it’s evident that they’re compatible in more ways than one.

“May I help you?” the man asked and Kojiro finally took a look at his face.
“Wow.” He was handsome, almost pretty. No, definitely pretty. With long hair swept over his shoulder in a loose ponytail and smart, thin-rimmed glasses poised on the end of his elegant nose.
The man quirked an eyebrow. “Do you have a package for me…?” That shouldn’t have sounded as sexy as it did. But his voice was deep and smooth and – Kojiro stopped that train of thought before it got too far from the station. Besides, the butler was still looking at him.
“Sure do,” he replied coolly, adjusting his hat and hiking the parcel up under his arm.

Kaoru was not someone who ‘did favors’ for others. Certainly not without getting something in return. So, when Ainosuke invited him out to lunch and then blindsided him by asking him to housesit while he and Tadashi were away on holiday, his knee-jerk response was a curt and decisive “Hell no.”
“You’ll have full access to the pool and anything else you may need while we’re gone.” A pause. “And I’ll cover all of your calligraphy expenses for the next quarter.”
Well, Ainosuke was one of his oldest friends, so Kaoru supposed he could hear him out.
