Summary
“. . . Hey, you’re uhh, you’re not going to jump, right?”
Billy slowly turned around and obnoxiously rolled his eyes, “No, I’m not gonna fucking jump.”
He said it like it was the dumbest thing he’d ever heard, and Steve suddenly wished he hadn’t asked. He wished he’d just kept walking and minded his own business — let the question eat at him the rest of the night.
Steve was still standing frozen when Billy finally looked up at him, and they made eye contact.
Gently, Billy said, “Look, I’ll see you at school tomorrow, okay?”
. . .
Steve has never met someone so interestingly confusing. Between the scars on Billy’s arms, and the smile on his face, Steve is determined to put the pieces together. And when they both get dragged down into the cursed town’s annual monster-fighting bullshit, the puzzle slowly starts to make sense.

Summary
"I don't think you do. I think you wanna stay," Harrington tells him, simple as that. "I want you to stay."
Harrington's hand comes up to brush Billy's hair out of his face. It's an oddly tender gesture, and Billy gapes, staring at Harrington like he's just been handed a single-coloured Rubik's Cube. "What?"
"I want you to stay." Harrington presses in until their hips are meeting and there's no such thing as personal space. He reaches out, pries Billy's boots out of his grip until he can knock them to the floor. They land with a dull thud. "Stay," Steve says. Billy thinks it's supposed to be a question, but it sounds more like a statement.

Summary
The earth outside looked sick. Scarred, blemished with vine growths that pulsed faintly. “…what,” Billy whispered.
Harrington was standing a few feet away, bat clenched loosely in his hand, shoulders slumped as if something vital had been ripped out of him. His face was pale, eyes wide and unfocused, mouth slightly open.
He looked destroyed. Like someone who had just watched their worst memory crawl back out of the grave.
Billy took an involuntary step toward him. “Harrington?” The Alpha didn’t respond at first. His gaze was fixed on the windows, on the blue-lit wasteland beyond, his breathing shallow and uneven.
“No,” Harrington said finally, voice hoarse. “No, no, no…”
He dragged a hand down his face, staining it further with grime. His scent had shifted completely now—sharp panic undercut by something older, painful. “This isn’t—” He swallowed hard. “This can’t…”
Billy’s chest tightened. “What…?” he asked again, barely audible. Harrington looked at him then, really looked. And whatever he saw on Billy’s face—fear, fury, raw survival—it made his expression crumple.

Summary
Steve's life kinda… sucks. Which isn't a nice thing to say, because honestly it's not that bad, but - it's just… it's not what he thought his life would be.
And it's definitely not made any easy with the likes of Billy Hargrove hanging around, stealing his pups, being hot and annoying.
OR; Negative Harmony written from Steve's perspective.

The one sound that made everything stop, but at the same time made it all too much. The neverending nightmare.
His dad placed his hand on his shoulder and it didn't bring comfort. Just a promise.
"What are the rules boy?" he asked direct. All up in his face, nose slightly touching his.
"Respect and responsibility" he replied robotic.
The fingers squeezed and he always told himself it didn't hurt. Pain was only in the mind.
"And?" he asked stoic.
That had him taking a shaky breath. But he knew he enjoyed it. Seeing him brought down like this. "Stay away from Alphas" he couldn't hold eye contact. He looked past his shoulder.
The hand left his shoulder, running down his front, all the way down his torso.
All the air left his lungs as he doubted over, falling to his knees.
