You're about halfway down – you can see tracks from other people. You're wondering when she'll let go. She hasn't dropped your hand yet. But then again, you haven't dropped hers either. Your palm and hers are sweaty, but she keeps it in her grasp, leading you. You two walk in silence. Only the crunching of dirt, the cracking of branches, and the subtle sound of the wind filling the otherwise noiseless air.

Summary
...And the ones that hurt the most, the ones that were given to her by the same girl with auburn hair, kisses that could be so delicate and innocent but were interrupted by laughter, kisses and touches that were not so innocent in the middle of the night and still lingered in the back of Josie’s mind even after 5 years…
Yeah, Josie still couldn’t go back to those memories without feeling miserable.
And the worst of all, it was all coming back to her since she drove past the Mystic Falls sign and was getting closer and closer to the town.

Summary
Another second passes where Lizzie makes a grab, and Josie moves without thought.
Her tongue comes out and drags across the top of the brownie just as Lizzie moves. The expression her sister takes on is obvious disgust, as she retracts her hand quickly.
"Ew! Never mind! I don't want it anymore."
Josie can barely believe it worked as she watches her sisters retreating form, walking further away. The brownie is still intact safely in Josie's hand.
A smile makes its way to her face as an idea is formed.

Profiler (ˈprōˌfīlər; noun): a person who records and analyzes someone’s psychological and behavioral characteristics, to assess or predict their capabilities or to assist in identifying categories of people
Profilers look at a scene and can tell you the personality of the person who committed the crime. They help explain the motivation behind the crime. Most people enter this profession due to the popularity of it in movies and tv shows.
Hope Mikaelson is a profiler but didn’t enter the profession for the same reasons many others did. She became a profiler because of personal motivation. She became a profiler because of Niklaus Mikaelson, often described as “The Great Evil,” known as The Surgeon ー her father.

Hope is left to answer the questions for herself, digging into Josie's past and uncovering secrets that should've stayed hidden. And somewhere along the way, Hope falls for the girl who just wants to sing along to Disney songs and dance in the pouring rain.
