Summary
(title from "The Challenge" from Epic: the Musical)
After the war, Khun Aguero Agnes hoped that he would be able to return to helping his husband Bam run their kingdom in peace. However, after a divine storm separates their fleet at sea, he is forced to return home with what remains of his crew and no sign of Bam. After years, the world assumes that Bam is dead, and suitors from all over flock to vie for a chance to gain a foothold in his kingdom by winning Aguero's hand.
But Aguero knows that his husband must be alive, and isn't willing to back down so easily.
Rak was harder to convince. "We should just kill them," he insisted.
"Don't be stupid, gator," Aguero snapped back. "If we kill them, their families will come looking for vengeance."
"Besides, there's practically an occupying army's worth," Hatz muttered. "We could never win in a direct confrontation."
"That's what we keep the sneaky turtle around for," Rak complained.
(this is an AU in which i blend elements of ToG with Homer's Odyssey and put khunbam in the roles of Odysseus and Penelope; background knowledge of the Odyssey shouldn't be necessary to understand)

Summary
Aguero wasn't someone that would just bend to someone's will. He had a strong head on his shoulders and if the Twins wanted to woo him then they would have to do better than just name him strategist.
Thankfully, the twins are willing to take a gamble and make sure Aguero knows that they aren't backing down. They know what they want, and it's him.

Summary
“Stars,” Bam repeats. “Your eyes look like them too.” There’s no reply, only more staring. Bam shifts, restless. Normally Rachel would say something, or at least laugh, but this boy’s gaze– he would ascribe a feeling to it, if only there was one. It was like it was burrowing into him with some foreign intensity Bam couldn’t dare attempt to name. It’s daunting, foreboding– it leers over him like a storm cloud, yet he isn’t afraid. For all the weight his eyes carry, the way they settle upon him brings such comfort. “It glows,” he tries to elaborate, compelled to make him understand. “They glow. Like how stars light the night sky. Your eyes are really bright, and… uh…” Bam trails off.
“... Thank you.”
His smile is instantaneous, overjoyed; he knows. He doesn’t say it, but Bam sees in his face that he understands.

An AU that is based in a fantasy world with a vaguely medieval time period while still taking major inspiration from TOG’s canonical worldbuilding; expect very little historical accuracies to real-world political systems, technology, etc. -- I do what I want at my convenience.
