Until the day Fury tells them that the representative from the X-Men is here, and Steve can't draw him, can't pin him down at all.

Summary
After the events in Washington DC, Steve Rogers feels like he knows the Winter Soldier from somewhere, but since the man's mask never comes off he can't know the man’s real identity.
Six months later a man with long brown hair, blue eyes, and dressed in many layers to conceal his identity starts coming to the VA for the PTSD group meetings. Sam Wilson befriends the man, who goes by the name James. Despite his refusal to reveal much about himself, Sam can't help but be drawn to him. But James past will catch up to him and Sam will learn things he never wanted to know as he chooses between what he thinks is right and the man he has fallen in love with. -

Summary
Foggy never wanted a slave. He gets given one as a gift for being accepted at law school anyway.
They’re called study-aids - meant to help you at uni. But Foggy knows what study-aids are usually used for, and he’d rather walk into traffic than be complicit in that.
In fact, maybe he can get away with treating him not like a slave at all? At least the guy seems like, *really* into the idea of studying law...
An enslaved Matt gets given to Foggy and it’s the biggest lucky break of his so far so unlucky life. Foggy seems intent on letting him pretend to be a free person, even allows him to cover the collar he is forced to wear. Matt is already hiding his senses, so his legal status is just one more thing he has to conceal from the world now.
Unfortunately, Matt still has the Devil inside, and when Foggy gives him enough freedom to start coming home with bruises, explanations to his owner become a bit tricky…
(Note: Slavery AU focused on characterization, recovery, Daredevil shenanigans and plot, and Matt doing his best to fight for justice in the most unjust scenario he's yet been in. No non-con between Matt and Foggy.)

In the span of the next three seconds, several realizations hit Matt all at once.
The first, as sharp and obvious as a thrown punch—that song he’d been trying to remember! It was I Was Made for Lovin’ You. Of course. He could finally breathe easy.
The second? That was definitely not Foggy, which meant someone else had answered Foggy’s phone. Which led him to the final—and arguably most important—conclusion: if someone else had picked up Foggy’s personal phone, that could only mean—
“You bastard,” Matt hissed. “What have you done with him?”
