Summary
“No. I came up with an excuse on the fly. Not a very good one, I might add.” There, Nanami pauses. His throat constricts. “I told my boss I was meeting my fiancé’s family.”
“Nanamin,” Gojo breathes out, sounding theatrically shocked. “You are getting married and you never even told me you had a significant other?”
“I am not getting married,” Nanami snaps. “I don’t have a significant other. I lied to my boss, Gojo, and he called me out on it. I have a short reprieve because he’s going away for the weekend, but on Monday, he wants details on my meeting with my fiancé’s parents. He wants photos. He wants to know everything about a fiancé that doesn’t exist.”
“Oh.” The word pops out from pursed lips that form a perfect ‘o’. “Oh, Nanamin. You want me to play along, is that it?”
In a bid to avoid an after-work party, Nanami lies to his boss that he's meeting with his fiancé's family. Desperate to lead credence to his lie, he asks the only person he trusts for help: Gojo.
Shenanigans ensue, and old feelings resurface as the two of them get reacquainted with each other.

Gojo, sensing the necessity for a shift in strategy, softened his expression and took a deliberate step closer. "Nanami, my favorite kouhai, we've shared too many morning moments for you to abandon ship now. What would the communal kitchen be without our conversations?"
Nanami, seemingly unaffected by Gojo's charm offensive, quirked an eyebrow. "More peaceful, I imagine."

“But you’re miserable,” Satoru bursts out. He doesn’t mean to – it’s too honest, too soon, that’s not what he has with Nanami. Satoru is untouchable and in his own way, Nanami is too. They agree more often than they disagree these days, they cohabitate and they coexist, but that’s all.
Nanami doesn’t want more.
Satoru, inexplicably, does.

Summary
Throughout all those years, Nanami remained one of a few constants in Gojo’s life in one way or another. He tried to escape the jujutsu world, but it seemed Kento could never really escape yours truly Gojo Satoru. As if wherever they went, they would’ve always met again, be it by the coincidence, impulsivity or, as of later, aspiration.
