This whole thing is Bobby's fault. He's the one that suggested Eddie apply for the mate matching service, it was his idea to look for an Omega that would love and care for Christopher, to find a mate to be by Eddie's side.
Eddie's gonna have to send him a fruit basket or something. It was the greatest idea Bobby's ever had and because of it they now they have Buck in their lives, in their pack and firmly nestled right in Eddie's heart.

Christopher looks at him, then down at his feet and mumbles something.
“Didn’t catch that, kiddo,” Eddie says, reaching out and pressing two fingers under Chris’ chin to tilt his face back up.
“I said,” Christopher says, “I want to nominate Buck.”

It's not subtle, he's not even pretending to be subtle.
It's the verbal equivalent of tossing a lit match onto gasoline.
Buck knows it, and he couldn't be more excited.
He watches Eddie freeze mid-motion as if someone has hit pause on his actions, his shoulders tense up, his back straight and rigid. He gradually comes back into himself and sets the hanger down in the closet like it’s made of glass, and turns around slowly.
The look he gives Buck is a fusion of wide eyed confusion and mania.
But most of all… he looks pissed.
Good, everything is going to plan.
Or; Buck is a little shit and Eddie is just trying to do laundry.

Summary
The silence on the other end sharpens.
“What the hell is that supposed to mean?” Buck snaps.
Eddie flinches. “Nothing. I—”
“No, come on, say it. What does that mean, Eddie?” Buck pushes, voice rising.
He feels trapped, like the walls are closing in, like he’s been backed into a corner with no way out. His palms feel sweaty, chest rising and falling too fast, too shallow, like there’s not enough air in the room.
He’s angry.
He’s hurt.
He’s confused.
He’s jealous.It’s too much all at once, emotion piling on top of emotion with nowhere to go.
And it keeps coming.
And. And. And.
His body is trembling under the weight of everything he can’t say, everything he didn’t know until now.
“I’m just saying,” Eddie starts, “it’s only been a couple of weeks and now you’re fucking Tommy Kinard in my bedroom—”
“It’s not your bedroom anymore,” Buck cuts in, his voice sharp. “You made sure of that, when you left.”

Eddie figured Buck could use the extra care and a small pick-me up after the tough shift yesterday. They had spoken before bed last night, Buck sounded worn out from the day but otherwise fine.
Eddie was looking forward to seeing him this morning, his alpha needs to have physical eyes on Buck to settle and has felt on edge all morning. Eddie reasoned with himself it's just the high stress call yesterday coupled with how Buck took it all but once he sees him today, he is sure would settle.
Eddie is heading back to his car when he gets a call from Bobby. “Hey Cap, what's up?”
“Eddie, have you heard from Buck? Athena asked him to check in this morning and we haven't heard anything. Eddie, He's not picking up the phone.” Bobby's panic is clear and it sets Eddie and his alpha on edge.
Fuck.

The 118 go to a tough call, that sends Buck into a stress heat and for the fist time brings his milk in, Eddie more then willing to lend a helping hand.

Fuck, he’s miserable.
Out of all of the side effects of deciding to stop sleeping with random people – mostly random alphas, and especially for his heats – being absolutely miserable isn't on his list.
Or Buck and Eddie meet on a site where alphas and omegas swap clothes to help with their cycles, it just escalates from there in typical Buddie style.
