Summary
Dumbledore was furious when he found out.
The voice, usually calm and quiet, now boomed like thunder.
"This crossed every line, Sirius. I’ll have to call your parents immediately."
And so he did, Walburga and Orion Black were summoned. The air in the room was thick, heavy with shame and disgust.
"You tried to kill your own... fiancé," Walburga said, her voice dripping with venom.
"He's nothing to me," Sirius spat. "He’s just a chain you shackled me to, since Regulus isn’t around anymore to be your perfect little heir and deal with that thing."
"If that’s what you think your fiancé is, then you’ll learn to polish that chain until it shines. From now on, Severus is under our care at the manor. He’ll be prepared as the worthy wife you reject. And you, Sirius, will be shaped into the heir who owes us loyalty and respect," Orion said, voice cold as marble.
Dumbledore said nothing. Didn’t even try to stop it.
It was punishment.
Cold and cruel.
