Summary
Makima was once the planet he orbited. Now, she’s the gummy flesh stuck between his teeth. She stirs in his guts and metabolizes into the calories that keep his brain revving. She’s so deep inside of him that he doesn’t think he’ll ever get her out. She’ll always be there, clawing at the back of his mind.
A lump forms in his throat. He can’t force himself to speak, and so her name dies on his tongue the same way the rest of her did.
She’s gone. He devoured her, down to their first impressions.
Huh.
