Arthur doesn’t breathe.
Because he knows. He knows that Merlin means it, knows this isn’t a question for reassurance. It’s a confession of fear. And it breaks something in him to know why Merlin is asking.
Arthur turns his whole body to face him. Looks him in the eye.
“No,” he says, with the certainty of the sun rising — not questioned, not earned, just as a fact.
Merlin swallows.

“Knew you’d be awake. Didn’t want to bother anyone else. You know me, I love to annoy you.” There’s humor in Dazai’s voice, but then Chuuya hears a pant of effort and another thump.
“Chuuya,” Dazai says, and for a second there’s genuine fear and desperation in his tone. “I can’t get up.”
“Shit,” Chuuya swears, and a knot of worry settles into his chest. “I’m coming.”

Summary
Chuuya opens the screen of his phone only to find messages from a dating app he’s pretty sure he deleted. He thinks he deleted it because everyone there looked like shit, assholes, or just weren’t his type. He liked what? Three people? He's genuinely surprised to find out the tall brunet he liked matched with him.
[Dazai Osamu]: This is a pleasant surprise.
[Dazai Osamu]: Didn’t think you’d find me attractive.
[Dazai Osamu]: No wait! Of course you would!! I’m insanely handsome, after all.Chuuya stares at the messages for a moment. This Dazai guy sounds like a bastard, but Chuuya has to admit he is insanely handsome. He supposes it won’t hurt to reply.

Chuuya meets Dazai through a dating app which leads to them having mind-blowing sex together only for Chuuya to learn the next day that Dazai is, in fucking fact, the Executive of Mori Corporation who’s been overseas for the past three years. But what’s the problem? Well the problem is that Chuuya can’t look Dazai in the eyes. Not after all the things he said, thinking he’d never need to see Osamu again. Honestly, fuck him (Dazai did, multiple times) and his life.
