“Oh, I just finished my patrol.” The younger hero made himself at home in one of the lounge chairs, adjusting his red wings as needed. “Was just feeling a little bored, and it’s not like I was in a rush to go anywhere anyway. You know, I usually work every Christmas so I’m really not sure what to do with myself honestly. What do people do on Christmas anyway?”
Endeavor paused at that and gave him an odd look. “When was the last time you celebrated Christmas?”
Hawks blinked and really pondered the question. It wasn’t as if the Commission let him celebrate the holiday when he was a hero in training nor did his childhood really foster an environment that allowed for such festivities. “Well, not ever really. It was never a big deal growing up and I don’t have any family to celebrate with anyway.” His words only served to make Endeavor’s frown deepen, and he tried to quickly backtrack. “Aha, it’s really not as bad as it sounds, I swear! I don’t celebrate any holidays at all really.”
“You don’t have any plans tomorrow?”
“Uh, no? I, um, was just planning to chill at home honestly. Maybe get some fried chicken delivered. Take it easy, ya know?”
“Good. Come over for dinner at my home tomorrow evening.”
