Summary
Amid the turmoil of a Britain divided under both Anglo-Saxon and Danish rule, Aziraphale and Crowley—pre-arrangement—meet at night on the hills above Charnwood Forest. Their respective missions led to their facilitating in the state marriage of Æthelred of Mercia and Æthelflæd of Wessex with the eventual goal of unifying Britain.
They struggle to contend with their conflicting feelings regarding the union for reasons neither can quite explain.

Summary
It’s been six days since Aziraphale and Crowley stopped the second coming from coming. That should have been the hard part. The best way to deal with the mess of themselves in the aftermath would probably be to have a nice long talk about the important things.
So instead they go to Royal Albert Hall to hear a performance of the concerto that Crowley accidentally kind-of sort-of commissioned from Antonio Vivaldi, and Crowley didn’t really think everything through.
Ch. 1 and 2 are T if you squint. E rating applies to Ch. 3.

Baffled, the dragon lifts his snout out of the pile of coins and points it at a figure standing by the entrance to the tunnel.
It’s a human! It’s a fucking human! With silver hair, silver clothes and wrapped in a long sapphire cloak. He’s actually crept up on Crowley!
Who’s a dragon, remember?
“Ahm,” the agreeable face shines with easy politeness, as if the man wasn’t in the company of the largest predator in this world. “My apologies for the intrusion, dear fellow. I hope I'm not disturbing you.”
It talks! A human talks?
“Shit,” Crowley shrieks. “You humans are sentient!?”

Crowley and Aziraphale are lovers; they're also adversaries. They have an arrangement, but neither of them can risk admitting what it means.
Written for the Good Omens Bingo fill, "sex through the ages."
When had the demon become so important to him? Had it been in Rome? Or even earlier? Their first night together – that first snow. Crowley had been so wonderful, and Aziraphale had been shocked at his own behavior. He had thought he would go off and repent – beg for the Almighty’s forgiveness, but he never had.
It didn’t seem quite fair for them to meet and get on the way they did, if it were wrong. Why would the Almighty throw them together if by their very natures, they must forever be apart?
