    “Not bad, Spark, not bad,” Bakugou mutters. He lightly kicks Kaminari’s shin when he settles back down next to his part of the fire.
    Kaminari’s smile grows impossibly bigger and his eyes are sparkling when he turns to Bakugou to beam at him.
    Kirishima lets himself fall down between them, poking Bakugou’s thigh with his knee. “You both did really well,” he says, leaning against him.
    Bakugou doesn’t push him off, though he does shrug, causing Kirishima to smack his chin against his shoulder.
    ...
    It's not that he needs validation. He knows he is great, knows he is going to be number one. He didn't plan on pursuing any kind of relationship and doesn't need them in the first place. He would do fine on his own. But maybe he can finally admit to himself that even though he doesn't need it, not any of it, that it's okay to want it anyway.
    ...
    or, class 1A, now in their last year of high school, is on a summer camp before they graduate. most things have settled by now, but Bakugou, Kaminari and Kirishima are still dancing around each other.

    Bakugou had been going to BeansPot Coffee for a long time. A hole-in-the-wall coffee shop in the middle of the city, the place was a wonderfully well-kept secret – and that was exactly how he liked it. Which was why he was instantly on guard when he walked in one morning to see a new face standing behind the counter.

    Well, actually, first he saw his hair. Stop-sign red and styled up into spikes. Between that and the way-too-wide smile that stretched across his face, he was almost hard to look at directly.

    Too goddamn bright for this early in the morning.

    Or, pro-hero Ground Zero had a morning routine that he liked perfectly fine, thank you very much. That is, until a bright-eyed new barista showed up to throw a wrench in it, one caramel latte at a time.

    Shouto probably shouldn’t like that as much as he does. “Yours?” he asks, because he wants to hear it again and again and again, despite himself.

    “Mine,” Bakugou confirms. “Fuck, you don’t even know, do you?”

    “Know what?”

    “You think I don’t wanna touch you? You think I don’t want to kiss every inch of you? It’s a fucking problem, Shouto. My heart doesn’t work right around you.”

    With that, he takes Shouto’s hand, and presses it, palm flat, against his chest. His heart thumps wildly under Shouto’s fingers. Warm. Alive. For him. Because of him.

    “Oh,” Shouto says, wide-eyed.

    Or: Two people who are kind of horrible at communicating figure it out. Because they care.

    Snickers rose from the class as she turned a bright red.

    Aizawa sighed. “Not exactly. The quirk is a weird mix between a truth quirk and a prone to suggestion quirk, thanks to the boy's parents. It means you’ll be under the effects of a normal truth quirk, but you also won’t have the ability to keep yourselves from oversharing.”

    “So we’ll all be spouting fucking word vomit like Deku?!”

    “Yes, Bakugou. Fucking word vomit.”

    Or

    Class 1-A is hit by a very powerful truth quirk, and lots of things come out. Some things are quite harmless - quite the opposite, really - others are quite funny, and some open wounds that never really healed.
