They seem fairly perplexed by the idea.” And with a sharp grin and a raised middle finger, she disconnects, leaving the three of them to discuss one of the joys of growing up on a densely populated homeworld: spending an afternoon riding rides and eating junk food under the watchful eye of an eerie, anthropomorphic mascot.
The next morning, they wake up together to a chime from all of their omnitools: one day passes, courtesy of Aethyta, for the whole family.

The attack must have been executed with extreme precision, because barely moments into Tali’s frantic scramble to get something, anything, back online, the outer door to Engineering slid open. She sent a frantic omni-tool command to the inner door, but knew her hasty lock encryption wouldn’t hold for long. Heart in her throat, she frantically searched the area for any kind of weapon. There was nothing laying around and for the first time in her life she cursed her tendency to keep her workspaces preternaturally neat. Before she had any more time to think of a plan, the encryption program fizzled out and the inner doors slid open. Her back was to the door and she felt frozen in place until a low, synthesized voice growled “Turn around.”

Bone plates scraped the inside of her wrist. Nothing about Turians was soft, except for the way his massive talon closed over the back of her hand, hesitant for fear of hurting her and then just slightly too firm in self-loathing for treating her as if she was fragile.
Nothing soft, but transparent.
Garrus and Tali guide Shepard through the process of recovery after the Reaper invasion.
Along the way, they find other wounds to heal.

Summary
Disheveled is the Doctor/Rose love story as I saw it during S2. It is an award winning fic, written and posted during the original airing of S2 and S3 of new Doctor Who. It contains elements that appear much later in the series, but those are purely coincidental. Essentially a Doctor/Rose love story of epic proportions, spanning many regenerations, it relies heavily on Old School canon, some of which has been Moffed. It is a long fic, over 500 pages, and full of biological and culture detail for Time Lords, mostly based on my imagination and views of old school canon.
I think of it as a happy-ever-after story, but there are major angsty, triggery things that happen as we meander along. This is the warning you get for those. Fiction without conflict and surprise is hardly worth anyone's time. This work is for emotionally mature readers who can tolerate sexual exploration, tension and surprises.
