Summary
When a car accident takes away not only her wife, but her hopes of building a family, Caitlyn decides to leave behind her hometown to move back in with her college roommate Powder Lanes. The friendship the two have quickly becomes the only thing keeping Caitlyn from giving up on life completely.
After nearly dying while deployed, Vi returns home to South Carolina after finding out the love of her life was seeing someone else. Though her mother is thrilled, her sister is less than pleased to see the return of the sister she believes abandoned her.
Eventually Caitlyn and Vi end up meeting at Powder's engagement party and form a trauma bond which they believe is meant to be nothing more than a friendship of understanding. Yet as they begin to spend more and more time together, something deeper beneath the surface begins to form. Will they allow their relationship to develop into something more or will they both hold on to their fear of life taking away the things and people that matter most to them?

“Who the hell are you?” the red head asked, no, no. She spit out. Caitlyn felt like a child being told off for swearing.
“Yo, sis! Piltie princess at the bar!” Powder’s loud voice came back.
“Yeah, I can see that.” And now the redhead was judgingly staring her up and down with a hint of curiosity in her words. That made Caitlyn’s mouth fall completely agape. Caitlyn was beyond offended but even worse she felt ridiculous, stupid and internally humiliated. The singer spread her arms and mockingly said, “Welcome to the Lanes” with a grin that felt anything but welcoming.

Caitlyn really didn't want to follow Grayson down to the Undercity, but what was she going to do? Say no to her superior? Lucky (or not) for her, she gets to experience Vi performing at The Last Drop. They meet...and chaos ensues.

Summary
Caitlyn Kiramman had everything. Daughter of the Tory Prime Minister, Enforcer of the law and an only child raised in Westminster with a trust fund as big as Buckingham Palace itself.
Caitlyn had always been on the 'right' side of London. Until she was wasn't. Stripped of her job and in the wake of a recent divorce, she's been forced to move over the Thames to live alongside the very people she's been raised to despise.
It doesn't help that her new next-door neighbour is insufferable — the somewhat gorgeous yet intolerable ex-military Labour supporter with an obsessive ex who makes Caitlyn's heart skip two times too fast.
