Summary
“Look! This is my collection!” Xie Lian proudly exclaims. “It’s great, isn’t it?”
Mu Qing nods quietly. When Xie Lian keeps looking at him expectantly, he replies with, “En.”
Xie Lian tilts his head to the side. "You don't talk much, do you?"
Mu Qing blinks, surprised by the question. He flushes slightly. It's not that he doesn't like talking, it's just that others prefer when he doesn't. Only his mother actually listens to him, so he doesn't bother talking to others anymore. But what’s the point of trying to explain all of this to someone he’s never going to see again? He shrugs instead.

Summary
The conversation wouldn’t be too different from the interactions he’s, regrettably, seen before. What is surprising is which words are coming from each person. Feng Xin is nervously smiling and raising his hands in a placating gesture, tired and anxious energy exuding from his form. If that wasn’t bizarre enough, Mu Qing and Xie Lian are engaged in a very heated screaming match, both looking more than ready to throw fists, but—perhaps not that unexpectedly—it’s Mu Qing who seems to want to be more physical.
Hua Cheng doesn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

Summary
Xie Lian should’ve known better. He really should’ve.
He doesn’t quite remember what happened after, but at some point he was surrounded by San Lang’s arms and that’s when the screaming started. It was his own screaming, obviously, but he felt oddly detached from it. Like he was seeing himself from outside his body. As he watched, he could only focus on the drip, drip, drip of his tears hitting the teacup he refused to let go. The sight of it brought back memories of a long, long time ago, when tears would hit tiny glass jars. When tears were used to bring life.
His mind is currently too muddled to properly convey this, but he holds onto the thought as he finally lets go and allows himself to break down.

Summary
“It’s not—! Ugh! Why are you always like this?! People try to do something nice for you and you’re always questioning their motives! You push everyone away! You’re so self-centered and spiteful and petty! I don’t know how A-Li puts up with you!”
Feng Xin knows he’s gone too far once the words leave his mouth. Mu Qing looks physically struck, but he quickly cools his expression into one of brutal indifference and walks away. Feng Xin curses under his breath and follows. He’s too stressed and tired and he doesn’t want to fight Mu Qing. It’s not Mu Qing’s fault that his day has been so bad.
“Look, I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have said that, it’s just that this day’s been so awful and I’m tired and hungry and I feel like crap. And this shit is heavy.” He pulls slightly at the straps from his backpack. Perhaps the only lucky thing was that he’d fallen down the hill with his backpack on.
Mu Qing snorts while looking around. “Maybe you’ve been cursed by the ghost of misfortune.”
“Ha ha, as if. And it’s the god of misfortune, not the ghost.”
