Summary
Izuku Midoriya is unlucky, to say the least and life hasn't exactly been kind. Things weren't so bad in the beginning, but once he was diagnosed quirkless, well, it all went to shit. Everyone grew to hate him, even his best friend and own father.
Was it really that impossible to become a hero without a quirk? It doesn't really matter because to Izuku, the term hero is flexible. He'll be his own hero because he's learnt from his own experience, people are selfish and the only one he can rely on is himself.
Left alone to fend for himself in the world, Izuku goes out to change things on his own terms, despite his methods being slightly illegal. Keyword, slightly. It's only illegal if he gets caught, right?

Summary
Izuku Midoriya was a quirkless orphan. His mother had been killed when he was eight—the same day he lost faith in heroes. By ten, he had lost faith in all adults. He had been shuffled between at least eleven different foster homes, each one eager to send him back the moment they realized he was quirkless. By twelve, Izuku understood the truth—no one was coming to save him.
So, he became Ghost.
Silent, unseen, and unnoticed, he moved through the city’s underbelly, doing what heroes wouldn’t. No quirk, no support—just sheer will. If the world refused to fight for someone like him, then he’d fight for himself and for those who had no one else.
But then they came.
Yamada Hizashi and Aizawa Shouta. Two pro heroes who didn’t look at him with disappointment or pity. They didn’t see a problem to be ignored or a burden to be passed along. They saw him—just Izuku Midoriya, a quirkless orphan who had been failed time and time again.
But Izuku had been surviving on his own for so long. He had built walls no one had ever tried to break through before. They didn’t know who he really was, what he had done, what he had become.
And he wasn’t sure if there was anything left of him to save.

Summary
Izuku was chosen for his lack of quirk. Aizawa was chosen for his quirk’s usefulness as it pertained to the mission. Both were scanned and vetted meticulously, followed for a minimum of one month (Izuku) and a maximum of three (Aizawa; it took much longer due to his pro-hero status).
Kidnapped and subjected to experimentation, torture, and horrors beyond comprehension, Izuku and Aizawa only have each other.
But left to the mercy of their captors, will their companionship be enough to break themselves out? Or instead, lead them to break apart in the process?

Rabbit pushes himself away from his heavy lean on the doorframe with one arm, and Shouta opens his mouth to say something along the lines of absolutely not, you come in here right this instant and let me help you, but before he can get any words out Rabbit's eyes roll up into his head, and his knees buckle, his body pitching forwards.
The only thing that stops an unfortunate introduction between his face and the floor is Shouta's battle-honed reflexes, grabbing the kid by both shoulders as he slumps.

Summary
Everything was great up until Izuku turned 4. He lived a happy life with his mom and dad. He smiled and laughed without a care in the world. Every Saturday he would go play with his best friend Katsuki (or, to him, Kacchan), at the park while their moms chatted and laughed along with each other. He drew pictures that his mom would hang on the refrigerator and played heroes until he was so sleepy he couldn’t keep his eyes open anymore. He had always felt loved. He had always felt safe with his family. Why wouldn’t he, right?
The day after his mom- mother had taken him to the quirk specialist, and learned Izuku would most likely not develop a quirk of his own, his life had taken a drastic turn for the worst.

...neither Hizashi or Shouta could imagine going back to their old lives. They had a nice, serene life together before Izuku came into the picture. But in the two and a half weeks that he has been there, it’s like their world flipped. Everything seemed brighter and more colorful. They couldn’t even fathom the idea of the house returning to its old, dull state. Whether they meant to or not, Hizashi and Shouta fell in love with having Izuku around.

Shouta opened his mouth to deliver a logical rebuttal, but the vibration of his phone against the desk cut him off. He looked down, his expression shifting instantly when he saw the caller ID.
Midoriya Izuku.
“Good grief,” Shouta muttered. What was that saying about the devil appearing? It seemed fitting for a time like this. The urge to pinch the bridge of his nose was nearly overwhelming his usual composure, but he forced his hand to swipe the screen instead. He pressed the phone to his ear and grumbled, “Hello?”
A wet, hacking cough greeted him. “Hey—uh—All Might—s’rry, but—” more coughing, followed by a slur of incoherent mumbling, “I’m—no training—t’m’rrow.”
Shouta’s brow shot up. “All Might?”
“Yeah,” came the breathless, airy reply.
There was a pause before Shouta asked slowly, “...Are you okay?”
“Peachy,” Midoriya mumbled, followed immediately by a miserable groan.
