Summary
But his shoulders are drawn into a single tense line, and he can taste the rattle of bass from the stereo in the back of his throat, slower and more steady than the way his heart can't seem to settle on a pace. Shigeru is stretched out on the bed under him, leaning on his elbows with his head tilted just slightly to the side. His smile twitches slightly at the edges, and something about that makes Kentarou feel better, less like he's facing down the barrel of a gun.
Okay, possibly he's more nervous than he expected to be.
This is different, though than laying in his bed and making out or grinding himself against Shigeru, with both of them trying to be quiet enough that they don't get caught. This is bigger, and Kentarou knows that he needs to get it right.

Kenma frowns, but his lips can’t keep a serious line. With an exaggerated roll of his eyes, he takes his cup and drinks a long sip of the hot tea. Kuroo grimaces. “How can you still drink it that hot.”
“I told you witches are dragons in disguise.”
“And I seem to recall I sent you a book belying that theory.”
“It’s never been a theory.” Another sip, another golden glare. Kuroo licks his lips at the joyfulness of Kenma’s gaze, and smells his tea. “Also, that book was garbage.”

Summary
Kenma reluctantly spoons vanilla into his mouth, watching the sun set. And when everything is dusted in stripes of pale orange and purple and gold, he glances at Kuroo’s profile muddled in the shadows of the descending sun, and wonders whether he had somehow accidentally made friends with an impressive sort of boy. The ice-cream melted under his thumb feels maddeningly sticky, like he’ll never wash it away thoroughly enough and it would leave its mark wherever he touched before he could.
Kenma has never really thought of anyone as good-looking before, never really cared enough about these things to notice them. But Kuroo is objectively so, in this light, in this angle—maybe all the time.

Summary
Kuroo Tetsurou's parents are killed by vampires when he is eight years old. Twelve years later, consumed by rage and hatred for the vampire kind, the hunter still searches for the coven that killed them, vowing justice (or revenge).
Kozume Kenma thinks he'd rather die than live as a vampire, but when the newly turned nineteen-year-old's path crosses Kuroo's, the hunter spares his life in exchange for his assistance in avenging the hunter's parents' death.
Tension is a string pulled taut between them, and sooner or later something will snap.

He's not sure if he'll survive with such a lazy and inconsiderate person leaving a mess under his roof, but eventually Hakuryuu finds himself warming up to the said fool until he can't imagine their apartment without him.
