Summary
Ambrus thought taking Coen's little brother from Brencis's dungeons would be the perfect way to put an end to the young Dawnwalker's meddling in his territory.
What he hadn't anticipated was an eight year old who stubbornly refused to accept that Coen had a new, considerably superior older brother. As far as Ambrus is concerned, he is Coen's family now, and the boy would do well to understand that his claim on Coen is a thing of the past.
Mirto, naturally, has a few things to say about that.
Coen, meanwhile, is absolutely horrified to find the two arguing over who knows him better, while desperately wishing his little brother would stop antagonizing a murderous Vrahkir before he gets himself killed.

Summary
An alternate universe where Coen did give into the hunger, ending his father’s life and letting Brencis devour his entire family. Self-loathing is in abundance but this pales in comparison to his hatred of Brencis. Coen is willing to play the long-game to get his vengeance and nothing is too pitiful, too corrupt, or too depraved to get what he wants.

Summary
Coen had done everything right, hadn't he?
He condemned the Manumits. Saved his family. Spared Laslea from the blood tax. Caved to Brencis's every demand, just as his father asked. That was supposed to be the end of it.
Unfortunately for Coen, their beloved Knyaz has a vested interest in bringing his youngest 'son' home.

Summary
Coen of Laslea has done what he set out to do. Brencis is dead, but with Lunka still missing, he can't stop now.
Coen must live with repercussions he could never have imagined and a name he never wanted. Saving his family cost him who he was and now they are trying to reconcile with who he has become.
