“Buck?” Eddie says, already pushing himself up onto one elbow.

Buck’s head turns sharply to the side, brow deeply furrowed. Sweat clings to his skin, dampening his hair, his shirt sticking slightly to his back.
“Don’t kill him—” Buck’s voice breaks, strained, barely audible.
