“A smart kid who doesn’t talk? Perfect combination. If only all my employees were like that.”

Yanqing’s mouth formed a thin line, and he diverted his gaze elsewhere. At the hustle and bustle of Luofu in the afternoon, Starskiffs coming and going—anything. His brain spun, replaying Yunli’s question while searching for an answer. Then, after several dead ends, he gave up.
"What does that have to do with anything?"
"Everything!"
"Everything how?"
"Because," Yunli raised her index finger in the air, pointing at him like a teacher at his old academy teaching a slow student. "Because you can’t just treat a girl as a Cloud Knight, or a swordmaster, or—or you can’t just follow her around all the time and show interest in her only to ask her to spar!"
"Well, I am interested in you—"
"And you can’t say stuff like that!"
Or, puberty finally hits Yanqing, and having Jing Yuan as his role model in some aspects of life (namely: romance) seems like a bad idea.
