“Call me Manon, from now on.”
Her halo glints, almost like it’s winking at her. Sophia scowls.
“Okay, Manon. Go clean up the bodies.”
(Or: Sophia is a devil hunter living on borrowed time. Manon can take that time away with a single touch. Somehow, they work quite well as a pair.)

Something flickered across Yoonchae’s face then, quick and sharp, like a light being switched on in a dark room. Her eyes blinked once, twice. Then she reached for her phone, hands moving fast, fingers precise. “Wait. Wait, just—” she murmured, already typing, already searching.
Then the phone vibrated. Yoonchae’s eyes went wide. “Oh my god.” She turned the screen toward Megan. A photo.
A little girl, smiling in front of the exact same pagoda. Same cloudy sky, same stone railing, every detail identical. Timestamp in the corner: 16·10·2014.
Or Megan and Yoonchae keep colliding, as if an invisible thread has been tying their fates together all along

And she got in ranking 5th on the entrance exam, placing her in the elite's class. However, someone in the class catches her attention: Manon Bannerman. A rebellious girl who looked like she didn't belong in that prestigeous academy.
Alright guyssss, I've had this plot in my mind for a while and finally worked on it!

Saturdays are for studio sessions, deadline panic, and the particular kind of exhaustion that comes from spending twelve hours inside a soundproof room. They are not for folding chairs, morning sunlight, or the youth soccer practice she somehow promised to attend.
But Elizabeth is five years old and very persuasive. So here Lara is.
Manon is the new head coach—quiet, composed, and infuriatingly calm. She runs her drills with precision and looks at Lara like she's reading something Lara hasn't figured out how to say yet.
Megan came for moral support. She wasn't supposed to notice the assistant coach with the bright smile. She wasn't supposed to start showing up early.
Somewhere between the parent laps, the café encounters, and the backwards Dodgers hat, Lara realizes she's in trouble.
The bridge in her head wasn't supposed to shift.
It's shifting anyway.

She gestured to her phone. “We haven't stopped texting since we got back to the hotel.”
Manon’s grip on her own elbows tightened. A flat and hollow sound was all she could say, and it ended up being similar to a brick wall.
“Oh.”
It was a bitter pill to swallow. How ironic, really, considering Manon had spent the entire morning rehearsing exactly how she was going to ask for Sophia’s number herself.
