What if Ian was diagnosed early, and he's scared of becoming his mother so he doesn't date or sleep around, he focuses on school or work. Along comes Artist!Mickey who wears flower crowns and picks fights with homophobes, tho he can't fight. For the first time in his life Ian has a crush on the pretty guy who draws during class. One day Mickey is attacked and Ian rushes in to help. They meet and Mickey gives Ian a flower crown and teaches him how to draw. they fall in love, the rest is history.
