Summary
Something is wrong. Something is really wrong. He is hurt. He has to be hurt. When? How? Mike was right there. He was right there.
“Shit,” he whispers. Then louder, “Shit—Will, hey. Stay with me.”
Lucas looks over at the sound of his voice. Dustin does too, their argument cutting off mid-sentence.
Mike barely notices.
He cups Will’s face with one shaking hand, trying to get him to focus. “Look at me. Come on, look at me.”
Will tries.
Mike can see him trying, and that somehow makes it worse.
His eyelids flutter. His gaze catches on Mike’s face for half a second, slips, catches again. There is something open in his expression, something fragile and stripped down and horribly unlike the way Will usually holds himself together.
“It’s nothing,” Will murmurs.
Mike almost laughs, except there is nothing funny in him at all.
“What?”

Summary
“Looks like I bit you.” Will tilts his head to get a better look. All Mike can do is stare at him. His fluffy hair at the front, clumped pieces at the back where he’d slid his fingers in a mere few minutes before. His pretty green eyes that look hazel or even brown in this light, the dark circles he gets when he drinks framing them like intricate paintings. A satisfied, bloody smile.
Mike isn’t satisfied. He swallows thickly, choking down the words 'don’t you want more?'
Or: Will dresses as a vampire for a college halloween party, but Mike thinks his costume isn’t bloody enough. Will lets him fix it. Mike goes into a crisis.

Summary
April 7th dawns like every other day, and it's not until Will throws a Kit-Kat at him that he realizes there's something amiss. He blinks the sleep from his eyes and stares up at where Will's standing, watching him with something like expectation in his face.
"Happy Birthday," Will says. There's the faintest hint of a smile on his face, barely reaching his eyes.
Mike blinks. Once, then twice, and when the third time brings no more clarity, he manages to force out a "What?"
Or: Three birthdays where Mike's life is vastly different, but one thing always stays the same.

Mike and Will always loved to be physically affectionate with each other, until Lonnie had a problem with it, and they stop entirely. One night, though, Mike cannot sleep and he desperately needs Will right beside him and Will is more than willing to comfort him. To be there for him.

Mike has walked through Will’s mind. He saw the darkness, the memories, and he felt the feelings, the ones he couldn't understand. So when Will comes out — brave and shaking and real — Mike puts the pieces together, and knows he can't stay silent anymore.
