This fic follows Hua Cheng’s point of view from Xie Lian’s ascension up through their first sleepover at Puqi Shrine. It includes what Hua Cheng might have been doing just off screen, waiting for those perfect moments to reveal himself, and what he was thinking during their first conversation in eight hundred years.
This fic details three “chance” encounters with His Highness: once as a butterfly, once in his true form, and once as ‘San Lang’.

Summary

The sincerity he is confronted with, however, takes him off guard and he finds himself growing fond of this little hunter despite himself.
