Summary
April Fool's is never a good day to be in SEKAI, from KAITO's experience. Not that he was IN SEKAI last year... But this... certainly takes the cake.
"Want to see a party trick I know?" Knight asks. Pierrot enthusiastically nods, because of course he does. Knight reveals a bottle of vinegar stolen from the SEKAI kitchen. Lily wasn't even aware they had a kitchen until now. "Watch."
Knight opens the bottle and tips it straight in his mouth, not even grimacing as he swallows down one of the worst tasting liquids alive. Lily watches Rui stare in complete disgust and fascination.
This is going to be a long 24 hours.

The kasaverse brainrot is strong. Rui is struggling, in fact, everyone is struggling, but at least it's funny enough one could ignore the brutal exhaustion from trying to manage everyone as they wait for the clock to hit midnight again like some reverse Cinderella story. -

“Oh yeah!” Emu seems to be reminded of something. She’s been explaining the basics of what she’s trying to do with the Wonder Stage, trying to get it popular enough it won’t be taken down, to the two new performers. “I forgot about the spirit!”
“Spirit?” the robot questions, the voice coming out as distorted and robotic. Rui seems to echo her thoughts.
“Yes!” Emu says, ”Ever since a few weeks ago there’s been a very helpful spirit helping me when I leave! They’ve been doing a lot for me!” Rui tilts his head inquisitively, thoughtful.
“Perhaps we should say this troupe has 4 members then!” Rui says gleefully. “What do you think, Emu-kun?”
“That sounds ridiculous, why can’t you two–” whatever Nenerobo was about to say is interrupted by Emu, who nods her head.
Or
Tsukasa is a yokai spirit dedicated to making people happy. Of course, this eventually brings him to interact with one Emu Otori, who just so happens to need a little help with her shows. And she brings along Nene and Rui, and he finds himself in a comfortable routine of helping out. It's definitely not a problem that he accidentally fell in love with all of them, because they'll never find out.

“Say, Torpe,” Dancho begins, settling down on his piano bench and bringing him into a side hug. His director takes in a deep breath, before looking at him softly, “I know, you always look up at the stars as a comfort. Because they are always there, and they will never leave in your lifetime. This will sound ridiculous, but…” Dancho swallows, gazing towards the piano keys instead. “I want to be one of your stars, my dear pianist. To always be by your side, for whichever reason you desire.”
Tsukasa tightens his hold on his favorite plushie, the only one that stays in his bedroom rather than the living room. Laying in his bed, holding onto his dearest purple cat, he wonders if that old memory he clings onto tells the truth. He wants to believe it, so, so badly. Was that promise, to be next to him always, was it true?
Because it’s not, right now.
He wants to look at the stars once again like Saki does, full of awe and joy, rather than the deep-seated yearning, for something he once had.

Rui watches as Tsukasa internally dies over this current meeting they're in. He's extremely bored too, but at least every 10 minutes he can walk around and refill everyone's tea.
Who is he kidding, that's just as bad.
Well, it's a good thing he's known of this meeting for days, and as such has had enough time to prep for a sudden intervention. Oh, nothing bad! He just thinks his dear king (and boyfriend) deserves a nice loving break, away from any pesky nobles asking for his opinion on marriage.

Sunset spills over the concrete tiles of the school rooftop. It’s a beautiful day, complete with the faint chirp of birdsong and the rustling of leaves in the distance.
“Is this a joke?” Rui’s words, sharp and clipped, echo in the empty space. He says nothing else, but his hands begin to clench. There is a tension in the air that gradually sets in.
Tsukasa's eyes widen.
"I would never be with someone as selfish as you."
In which Tsukasa confesses to Rui and gets rejected. Feeling are had, misunderstandings ensue, and Nene saves the day.

summaries are hard and I don't want to spoil my whole plot for Tsukasa so I'm sorry its short and vague :((
Edit: I know the first few chapters are pretty short, which is a turn off for some readers (myself included, I'm very picky) but I was learning back then. I considered merging some of the earlier chapters, but this would require me to delete at least half the original chapter pages, which would delete the associated comments and I couldn't bear to do that. I ask that you stick with the fic, as the chapters get more than 3x as long by chapter 7. Thanks so much for the support so far!
