The first feeling Akane registered was cold. Like ice being pressed to her skin, and it burned uncomfortably. She tugged to rub at her skin but found her wrists and ankles bound. She began to panic, tugging at her restraints, trying to pull free. A moment later she felt hot, searing pain. She was enveloped in flames, they burned, licking at her skin.
“Mama!”
“Papa!”
Those people she called her parents only stood by watching, sick smiles on their faces as they watched their daughter, no- their experiment, writhe in pain on the table. Her arms and legs were strapped down, and there was no chance for her to escape from this nightmare.
