Summary
Vash needs a break every once in a while to function, even if he won’t explicitly just take one for once. But Wolfwood supposes he can get him to have it in this form; in warm showers and shared double beds and cheap whiskey, in these brief moments where Vash grows just a little softer, allows himself to relax for a day or two in a shitty inn. It’s enough in this kind of life, one where they often can not afford respite even like this.
(Or, Vash drinks a little more than usual. Wolfwood wakes up to an Angel attached to him.)

Suddenly, Vash is shoving him back, his boot kicking the grenade just a bit farther away from them. Wolfwood stumbles, feet catching on uneven gravel. His nose slams into the ground, making him feel like his head has been filled with molten heat, thoughts stuttering to an abrupt halt like static blanketing over his brain.
And then the explosion hits and he’s falling.
(Or, Vash makes a decision that inadvertently hurts Wolfwood. He doesn’t take it well.)

Wolfwood sighs. “This can be your home too. Just give it some thought, yeah?”
