Colin would like to think of himself as a good person. He certainly was not perfect, if his obliviousness towards Pen's and more importantly his own feelings were anything to go by. But he did try.
And currently, with Pen's soft, warm hand in his and on the way to her apartment to continue her very special birthday celebration he did feel like he was succeeding. That’s when Marina entered the elevator.After a slight mishap involving some groceries, Colin is stuck spiralling in his own thoughts. He just can't shake the feeling that something might be wrong. He promises to be quick. Just a quick check. Just to quell his paranoia. If only it could have been so easy.

“Colin, what the hell are you doing here?” His cheeky grin makes my eye twitch. “I missed you, Pen.” “You missed me?” His grin widens. He is just way too handsome like that, the cheeky asshole. It’s as if he knows exactly how he is effecting me. And maybe he does but still…the audacity! He takes a step forward into my apartment, luggage and all. “Yes, Pen. I missed you.”
Penelope knows better than to expect anything special for her birthday. She certainly would never expect Colin to show up the day before, when he is supposed to be in Italy. And for sure does she not expect to be wined and dined. But what she least expects is for a drunken mistake to come back and haunt her. Or help her. Or whatever.

Summary
idk I watched season 3 and was tRiGgeREd by how Max was treated towards the end especially and couldn't stop thinking about it so... I started writing, it was gonna be a one chapter wonder and instead I accidentally wrote a novella... oops! still not finished so we'll see where it ends up but yah thought I'd start posting the chapters. title from the new Marina song that was just so clearly written for Max Baker.
