Gideon’s stomach swoops as he stands. You hop up from your seat, up on your tiptoes to kiss Gideon on the cheek. “Night-night, Gid,” you tell him, and he dazedly says “yeah” like an idiot until he remembers to add a quick “you too”.
You disappear down the hallway to the bathroom, and Caleb follows. He pauses just before he rounds the corner, turning his head slightly.
“Door’s open.”
Caleb invites Gideon to spend his birthday with the three of you.

“Say that again.”
“Hmm?” He blinks, his thoughts still hazy. “Say what, my love?”
“That - that I’m…” She curls inward, the limbs that are already around him pulling his softening body deeper inside of her. The Dancing Lights overhead draw out every shade of her blush and the subtle darkening of her eyes. Shyness touches her. An expression generally reserved for moments when she discovers a new part of herself. A brief hesitation. A gentle bite of her lower lip. It’s as though she’s verifying if she truly wants what she’s about to ask for.
In place of words, she catches him in a kiss that intensifies the instant it starts—satiation turning to hunger for more. The bite on his lip is not so gentle.

You shriek in surprise.
“OH MY GOD KIRI THAT’S WHAT YOU’RE THINKING ABOUT RIGHT NOW!?” You cry out, your voice echoing through the apartment as you bat at him playfully, cackling. He leans down so he can capture your lips in a searing kiss. Oh, God. Yeah – he’s being serious. He breaks the kiss and puts you down on the couch lightly so that you’re sitting up and he drops to his knees before you.
“I think we should celebrate, baby.”
